Welcome to Class 4!

It has been wonderful to see the classroom full of smiley and enthusiastic faces again! We have got an action-packed term with some really exciting projects ahead of us.

Class Information

​Here is a reminder of some of our classroom routines:

1.  Our school day starts at 8:45am and ends at 3:15pm.  

2. Our PE days are now on a Monday and Wednesday this half term. Please have your kits ready for these days. Our PE uniform consists of a plain white t-shirt, black shorts/jogging bottoms and plimsolls.

3. Please remember to bring in your reading book  and water bottle into school every day. All other stationary and equipment will be provided for you.

Homework

Reading: It is really important that children continue to read aloud to an adult as much as possible. Even just 5 minutes a night can make a HUGE difference to your child's fluency, confidence and enjoyment of reading. We are replacing paper reading journals with an online reading record called Boom Reader. (Details of this to follow shortly) Make sure you bring your reading book with you every day.
 
Spellings: 
Spelling homework will be set on a Monday using the Spelling Shed app.
The children are encouraged to log in and complete their weekly assignments little and often throughout the week. Spelling quizzes will take place the following Monday. Log in details can be found in the children’s homework folders.
 
Times Tables:
This is a big focus for us this year! As well as practising regularly at school, please encourage your children to log onto TT Rockstars and complete their weekly assignments. It is better to do this little and often rather than all at once. The children are expected to know all their multiplication facts up to 12x12 by the end of the year.
