Things to remember
Homework- Homework is handed out at the beginning of each half term. The children will have the half term to complete 3 pieces of homework which they can choose from 9 different options. This will create a '3 in a row' effect on their homework grids. Spellings and a multiplication challenge will go out weekly and will need to be completed by the following week. These need to be practiced at home throughout the week.
Don't forget that each child has an individual log in to Spelling Shed which is full of loads of fun ways to practice the spellings we are focusing on this year. They can also scan their personal QR code to login easily. Here is the link to the website:

Times tables - By the end of Year 4, all children are expected to know their times tables up to 12x12. Learning times tables is therefore a really important part of the children's weekly homework. We will provide lots of opportunities for the children to practice their times tables at school but it is really beneficial for them to also practice them regularly at home. Here are a few great games that the children can play online to help with this, all children have their own login to times tables rockstars and is a great way to practice, there is also an app available to download:

Reading books- Children are asked to try and read a short amount every day with somebody at home. If the children read at least three times per week to an adult, they will get a sticker, after 7 stickers they get a prize! There are opportunities for children to read in school with an adult throughout the week so please can children have their reading records with them at all times.
PE- PE takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays so they will need their PE kits in school on these days. Please make sure the children have kit for both indoor and outdoor PE.
