Charitable work - helping others

Our parents, carers and friends of the school are a generous and charitable bunch. Whenever the school seeks to embark on a charitable mission - the support is amazing. We have an established and long-standing link with the True Vine Trust, who provide help to children in schools in Tanzania. Collections made at our Church services - Easter, Harvest and Christmas - contribute to our donations. Additionally, Mrs O'Neill and Mrs Worsfold coordinate a Knitting Club at school and link with friends in the village to create blankets for the children to use in their dormitories at their school in Mgutwa.
Each year the school also selects one or two charities which have meaningful links to our wider community. In recent times, we have supported Marie Curie, Rainbows and LOROS . As well as that, the children like to get involved in national events such as Red Nose Day/Sport Relief and Children in Need. These days are extra fun as the children hold stalls, set up games, quizzes and competitions and generally have a great time raising more for children in the Uk and abroad who are less fortunate than they are.
At a more local level, this year at Harvest time, our children distributed food donated by parents/carers to The Carpenters Arms in Loughborough - a rehabilitation centre providing 800 meals a week to those seeking help. This is jointly coordinated and supported by St Peter and St Pauls Church.
