A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS
What a night! We had so much fun and you were an absolute credit to the school.
Mr Perkins couldn't believe how polite you were, enthusiastic about the activities, kind to each other, safe with the tools, resilient, efficient at tidying away, skilled at building fires...the list goes on! He said to me, "You actually get paid to spend time with this lot??" Lucky me!

Summer 1 Learning
Below is an overview of what we will be learning this half term in Class 6.
HOME LEARNING
All homework is set on a Friday and due to be completed by the following Friday. TT Rock stars Pupils should now be in good routines of practising their times tables on TT Rockstars often throughout the week. Knowing your times tables by heart, with speedy recall, is so important when needing to solve more complex problems and those with larger numbers. For some of you that are getting very speedy on times tables, you can complete an arithmetic test (minimum of 30 questions) on arithmetic frame instead. Please send me your results on Google Classroom. Y6 Arithmetic Practice - Mathsframe Grammar Your child will be set one assignment a week on SPAG.com. This will be based around their current grammar learning in English or it will be revision of previous years' content. They can use their grammar guide at home to help them revise grammar terms. Spellings Your child will be set a weekly assignment on Spelling Shed. Spellings should be little and often so that pupils can remember the spelling patterns. Reading Boom Reader is our online reading platform that replaces the paper reading diaries. I would like to see pupils reading at least 3 times a week but the more the better! Google Classroom Pupils will be set a weekly task on Google Classroom. This will alternate between a writing task, a reading comprehension and a mathematical reasoning task. |

Year 6 Residential

Early in September, we had an absolutely brilliant week away at PGL in Shropshire - filled with daring adventures, laughter and lots of fun getting to know each other. Staff were really impressed with how each child really pushed themselves out of their comfort zone and had a go at everything - heights, water activities and even new foods!
