PE Kit
This half term we will be focusing on cricket. Therefore, appropriate outdoor PE kit is required including plain, dark jogging bottoms, a plain sweatshirt and trainers as well as a plain white t-shirt and plain, dark shorts in case of warmer weather. For outdoor PE, trainers are preferable to plimsoles as these provide much better grip.
Earrings must be removed or covered up for all PE lessons. Children with pierced ears must be able to remove their own earrings before the lesson or cover them up with tape brought from home. Alternatively, earrings could be removed before school on your child's PE days.
Our book this half-term is ...
Our class novel and English text will be 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell.
We will use this book to inspire a range of writing and reading tasks.

Design and Technology - Soup Making
This week, Year 5 had an incredible afternoon with Mrs Scott, Mrs Graham, Mrs Stenhouse and Miss Harrison making 6 different types of soup. Many firsts were had including chopping, peeling, blending, taking things out of the oven and washing up! Well done to all of the children for their superb behaviour and a huge thank you to all of the staff for making it such a memorable and vital learning experience for the children.

- Reading and interpreting graphic notation in music.

- Forest school work with the Foundation Stage children: reading the story of Stick Man and helping the younger children to make a Stickman using whittling and taking part in a walk to see the horses and lambs.
