COVID-19 Information - Parental engagement
Most importantly, do not come into school if anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms.
General guidance
• As per DfE guidance, our school buildings will no longer be open to parents at the start and the end of the day.
• At Pasture Lane we will use two gates for entry: the main gate (the usual entrance) and the Community Lounge gate.
• At Cross Street, we shall use the main gate although access to the Year 6 classroom will be made by walking through the playground, round the side of the school to the back gate (near the kitchen).
• These entrances will provide the access points for the children each day.
• Classroom entrances will be marked out with 2m social distancing intervals for waiting.
• Only one adult is permitted to drop off and pick up their child/children and must only wait in the designated area.
• Pupils will queue in their designated area with one parent at the start of the day and will be met by staff members who will escort pupils into school. Parents will not be allowed into the classrooms.
• All children should stay in their line spaces (with or without a parent) and not run around before or after school.
• Parental contact should, for now, be via phone or email. A ‘postbox’ will be placed outside the main Reception entrance at Pasture Lane for letters, etc.
• Parents have been issued with the email addresses of their child's classteacher to enable direct contact.
• If absolutely necessary, then admission to Reception will operate a ‘one –in, one-out’ system. Once inside, please adhere to the social distancing guidance.
• To maximise safety, it is essential that parents adhere to the time allocation. If children are walking themselves to school (eg Year 5 or 6), please ensure they arrive at the appropriate time.
Parents' Evening
This term, there will no face-to-face parents' evening consultations. Instead, parents shall receive a brief written report concerning their child.
