Your Child Read booklet below has been designed to help you with hearing your
child read at home. The booklet contains key questions that you can ask and
discuss with your child as they read in order to support their understanding of
the texts. We hope you find this of use.
KS1 Key Words
By the end of Year 2 the children should be able to read all the words in the document below.
The decodable words can be read by ‘sounding out’ the words. The tricky words cannot be read by ‘sounding out’; the children need to learn to recognise the words.
